Michel Amar is an entrepreneur and expert in the fashion industry. For the last 28 years, Michel has worked and consulted with some of the most famous French brands and developed their leather garments, handbags, and accessories lines. From 1993 to 2006 Michel was CEO of Street Beat Sportwear. In 2006, BCBG Max Azria Group acquired Street Beat and made Michel President of BCBG – Miley Cyrus & Max Azria, a division that generated $700 million in sales for BCBG.
In 2014, Michel opened NYAM Licensing Agency (“NYAM”), which is based in West Hollywood, CA. NYAM held the BCBG handbag license for 2015 and 2016. Since 2016, NYAM has held the Bebe handbag license and designs, produces, and sells its own products under that brand. NYAM also obtained Catherine Malandrino license for handbags, as well as the Joan Vass license for handbags and luggage.
In February, 2019, NYAM was granted a long term license to design, manufacture and distribute batteries, light bulbs and certain electronic devices under the Brookstone name.NYAM’s most recently received license is Kensie candles, which was granted in 2021.
